Dome9 Linux Agent - Install and Uninstall Guide

    Install / Upgrade:

    The Install / Upgrade procedure is the same for all supported Linux distributions:

    RHEL: Versions 5 and 6 (32/64 bit)
    CentOs: Versions 5 and 6 (32/64 bit)
    Ubuntu: Version 9 and up
    Debian: Version 6 and up

    To install the Dome9 Agent on Linux,  first obtain your pairing from https://secure.dome9.com/Account/Settings, then run the following cmds:

    1. Become super user
      sudo su -
    2. Install the agent
      wget -q -O - 'https://secure.dome9.com/download/linuxinstallscript?pairkey=[PAIR-KEY]&secgroups=[SEC-GROUPS]&servername=[SERVER-NAME]' | sh

    [PAIR-KEY] should be replaced with the pairing key that you have obtained earlier.

    [SEC-GROUPS] should be replaced with a comma-separated list of Dome9 security group names that you would like this agent to join. For default installation, without automatically assigning security groups, Please remove the "[SEC-GROUPS]" string altogether.

    [SERVER-NAME] is an optional name that can be given to the server (Will be shown in the Dome9 Policy Management Pages). For default installation, without assigning a name, Please remove the "[SERVER-NAME]" string altogether.

    Uninstall:

    Debian/Ubuntu:

    1. Become super user
      sudo su -
    2. Uninstall the agent
      apt-get remove --purge dome9agent

    Redhat/CentOS:

    1. Become super user
      sudo su -
    2. Uninstall the agent
      yum remove dome9agent

    Re-install agent after uninstall:

    Please follow the same instructions as a normal install/upgrade to re-install an agent after it has been uninstalled.

    Please do not attempt to install the agent by invoking 'yum install' or 'apt-get install' command manually.

    If there is a problem installing the Agent after uninstall, verify that the following folders and files were deleted:

    • /var/lib/dome9
    • /etc/dome9
    • /usr/sbin/dome9d

    If after all of those steps the installation still fails - please contact support.
